Half-smoked Snoop Dogg joints integrated into objects of art fetched tens of thousands of dollars at auction. The top item, shown on the cover photo above, sold for $70,000. The total proceeds were more than double, and stood at a mesmerizing $148,000.

Snoop Dogg Joints Used for the Artworks Were Remnants of Iconic Smoking Sessions

They were not just any joints, allegedly. Rather, each object of art was created to evoke memories of legendary smoking sessions. The masterpiece ‘Snoop Doggy Dogg Genesis Burn’ shows a mug shot taken by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) of Snoop Dogg in 1993, when he faced accusation of murder. The rapper was later acquitted.

The seven-piece series of multi-media artwork wrapped under the title ‘Ashes to Art’ was created in collaboration with artist Erica Kovitz. All items were sold online on the platform 32auctions; sales closed on August 18, 2025. The auction was organized by The Joint Venture, a company which Snoop Dogg founded along with Kovitz.

Each piece shown on the auction was crafted using authentic remnants such as roaches, ashes and tips from blunts or joints smoked by Snoop Dogg himself.

“This is not just art — it’s history preserved in resin. A revolutionary fusion of pop culture, cannabis legacy, and contemporary fine art, this original piece from The Joint Venture x Snoop Dogg collection features Snoop Dogg’s personally smoked roaches, immortalized in pigment, resin, and glitter — and signed by Snoop himself,” the auction house said in its announcement

The artworks were further described as “true holy grail for fine art collectors, hip hop historians, and cannabis connoisseurs alike” the auction house wrote on its website

While the mug-shot recreation was the most successful one, other items also sold above $10,000. ‘Tiphany Smokes,’ which features three roaches arranged on Tiffany blue background, reportedly hit $13,750, while ‘Doggystyle Decoded,’ which came with a CD of the rapper’s debut album from 1993, fetched $16,500.

Pretty amazing, isn’t it. We have to admit that not every coffee shop operator can achieve this.
