Perfect Grow S02 EP05: Good Nutrients and Bigger Buds
Every organism on earth needs to feed itself, and when we talk about plants we talk about nutrients. Nutrients are the foods that you get to your cannabis plants. In the fifth episode of Perfect Grow season two, filmed in beautiful Thailand, our expert grower Max Majot covers everything you need to know about cannabis nutrients. He goes through several different nutrient supplements that will not only nourish and feed your plant, but also boost its immunity, and help produce bigger buds.
Good nutrients is a good sequencing of nutrients, giving the plants exactly what they need at the right time. Vice versa, bad nutrients is not giving enough, giving too much, or not giving when the plant needs it. It may all seem a bit complicated, but today there are various advanced nutrient solutions, stimulators and enhancers that growers can try on, as well as supporting tools to help with plant feeding and schedules. So it’s hard to make terrible errors even when you’re just a beginner.Â
Micronutrients, Macronutrients and Other SupplementsÂ
Cannabis nutrients can be divided into two main categories. On the one side you have the N-P-K, or the macronutrients. They are the main nutrients, or the main food for your plants: Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium. They are the nutrients that are most present, and are made available in big quantities to the plants. On the other side are the micronutrients and the additives. Examples include Calcium, Magnesium, Iron, etc. The plant usually needs only trace amounts of these nutrients.Â
However, the new episode from Perfect Grow goes beyond micro- and macro-nutrients. Max is presenting different products from Plagron, including supplements, additives and bio-stimulants that facilitate various beneficial functions on cannabis. Since these are products from Plagron, he also explains how to use the Plagron website to calculate how much of any selected nutrients should be used for your grow. Bonus: you get a grow schedule on your email.Â
Nutrient Products That Work Miracles for Your Cannabis GrowÂ
Now let’s take a look at the various nutrient products from Plagron that Max talks more in-depth about in the newest episode of the Perfect Grow show.Â
Green Sensation
This supplement is effective during the flowering stage of cannabis, making the buds much bigger. It also speeds up the rate at which the buds are growing.Â
Silic Rock
Silicon is reinforcing the structure of the plant. It comes handy when you want to have strong and tough plants, and getting plants that are resistant to heat and stress. Whenever your plant is a bit sickly, the Silic Rock will bring it back.Â
Sugar RoyalÂ
A sweetener that brings real taste to the flower and makes it even more delicious. Buds burn very well with it, and become a bit more sticky.Â
Power Roots
A supplement that promotes root growth and boosts resistance. It can be used whenever you just transplanted your plants, or whenever you do some clones. It gives a kick to the roots, facilitating faster growth, stronger and healthier roots.Â
Power Buds
A biostimulator with which you get more flower and it shortens the flowering stage. It can be used throughout the entire flowering phase. It makes a difference in terms of speed and the number of flowers that’s going to develop on the cannabis plant. Because it’s a bio-stimulant, it’s worth noting that a supplement like Power Buds would not provide nutrients directly to the plant. Rather, it enhances the plant’s natural processes, resulting in an increased value of active components, i.e. it speeds up active flowering.Â
Alga Grow
Back to basics. This is the base organic N-P-K nutrient solution for the vegetative phase. Besides the active macronutrients, Alga Grow also helps bring the max out of the terpenes later on.Â
Alga Bloom
The algae-based nutrient or the main food for the flowering phase. This would be the main N-P-K solution that plants need for the blooming phase.Â
How are these nutrients administered to the plant? Very simple. They are mixed with some water and added to the pots. When you’ve poured all the nutrients/water for your plants, you can then proceed to adjust the pH.Â
