Seeds are the best! They’ve been designed by nature to be kept as long as possible. Seeds can last outside in the ground for a few years. Some seeds can pop up after a year they’ve been put in the ground. Nature does have its way indeed. Episode 02 from Perfect Grow season 02 is all about cannabis seeds. Find out which cannabis strain Max will be growing in the new show and how did the process of seed selection go?
What Seeds Did We Pick to Grow?
It’s a strain that checks two main criteria: good taste and big quantity. The seed/strain of choice is F1 hybrid, which is also super consistent in the results it gives. The F1 breed is automatic. Like other autoflower weed seeds, it enters the flowering stage automatically, regardless of how much light it’s exposed to. It’s also a high THC strain. Expecting to get crazy results with it, in 70 days, harvest should bring around 400 grams of it. These seeds, as Max says, are the product of crazy biotechnology and could be a life-changing experience for every grower.
5 Tips to Take from Max on Cannabis Seeds/Strains
F1 Hybrid is one of those seeds that are easy to start with and get first hand experience with growing cannabis. As soon as you get familiar with the process, you can move to other seeds/strains. If you like American strains, Gelato or Gorilla could be nice choices for a subsequent grow project. But what else should you know about cannabis seeds?
1. Do not open the pack until you need it
When you receive your seeds, do not open the pack until you need it. Until you actually going to work with it. Seeds are very sensitive to humidity and temperature. Outside their package, seeds can be impacted and altered by both variations of temperature or inadequate room humidity.
2. Keep seeds in a dry place
If you take out the cannabis seeds from their package, put them in a small plastic bag, close the bag, and put it in a drawer where it’s dark and dry. Where there’s no changes in temperature or exposure to light. You can put them in a fridge, but seeds will not appreciate every time you open and close the fridge.
3. Seeds can be stored for up to two years
Seeds have a decent shelf-life. An unopened package of seeds can usually stay up to two-three years. There would still be some differences depending on when you use it. For instance, if you use the seeds after a year, germination might go slower. But most importantly, as long as you preserve seeds well, they can sprout even in ten years.
4. Visit a physical store with seeds
While you can always buy online from the comfort of your home, if you have the chance, go to a physical store. Because that’s the best place where you can talk about seed genetics with someone and learn something new about cannabis. It might be a very fulfilling experience if you’re really into cannabis.
5. Pick seeds based on your goals
What can your target be as a pro grower? Growing 500-600 grams of weed, or even 800 grams? There are seeds that can produce that much weed, but it may not always be the highest-quality weed. At the end of the day, it depends whether you are up for yield or perhaps for more quality. If you don’t like pushing your plants too much, and if you want your plants to have a happy life, perhaps getting a decent quantity and best taste is truly what you should aim for and have a successful grow.
