Cooking Cannabis-Infused Tacos

The popular Mexican dish can be laced with THC if you have cannabutter or cannabis-infused oil. It might be the perfect snack when you host a movie night or throw a home party, just to add a little bit of extra spice for the crowd. What follows is step-by-step instructions for a cannabis-inspired taco recipe.

‘Taco’ means ‘light lunch,’ which may sound hilarious when you think of all the different kinds of succulent and often heavy fillings people put in their tortillas. Now, it can also be your ‘high lunch’ if you lace it with a little bit of weed.

Ingredients list:

  • Ground beef or other type of meat per your choice (1lb./half kilo)
  • 2 onions
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • Tomato paste (6 oz can)
  • Cannabutter or infused olive oil (5 oz)
  • Taco seasoning mix (homemade or bought)
  • Other herbs of choice (e.g. parsley, mint)

Taco seasoning is a mix of several different spices. If you want to make a home taco seasoning, here’s a list of herbs and powders you would need:

  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp Mexican oregano
  • ¼ garlic powder
  • ¼ sea salt
  • ¼ ground black pepper
  • ¼ onion powder
  • ¼ coriander powder

How to Make Cannabis-Infused Taco?

Given that you have the taco seasoning ready, here’s how to proceed:

  1. Cut the onions into fine dices, and peel, grate, and mince the garlic cloves too.
  2. Use half of the cannabutter or cannabis-infused oil to cook the onion on a medium heat, until it changes color.
  3. Mix and stir the cooked onion with the taco seasoning, minced garlic and tomato paste in a separate bowl.
  4. Next up, cook the meat on medium heat. As you cook, chop it up with a wooden spatula into smaller pieces.
  5. Around 15 minutes before the meat is done, add the taco seasoning + onion mix and continue to cook on lower heat. Stir occasionally.
  6. Serve with tortillas, cheese, lettuce, sour cream or avocado paste.

Tacos can be filled with pork, chicken and other meats, so you can adjust this recipe as it suits your taste. It can also be served as a vegetarian dish, where instead of meat you can cook with tofu, cauliflower or mushrooms. Really up to you. If you offer it as a ‘high’ snack just don’t forget to infuse it with cannabutter or oil.

Bon Appetit!
