Barney’s Farm, Sensi Seeds and ILGM Announce Merger
All three companies provide high-quality cannabis genetics for growers around the globe.
Three companies that are giants on the cannabis scene, in particular famous as providers of high-quality cannabis genetics, will now work under one umbrella. Barney’s Farm Genetics, Sensi Seeds and ILGM announced their historic merger at the annual MJBizCon cannabis conference in Las Vegas. The group also revealed plans to go public and become the first publicly traded cannabis seed company in the U.S. by mid-2025.
Barney’s Farm Genetics, a global leader in cannabis seed breeding, announced on Dec. 4 that it has struck a deal to merge with the legendary Sensi Seeds, a renowned international seed library, and ILGM, a leading seed bank and e-commerce platform based in the U.S. The momentous partnership was announced at the annual MJBizCon cannabis conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The new arrangement is expected to formalize at the beginning 2025. Under it, the three companies will continue operating as distinct brands, but will be governed as one subject.
“2025 will be a transformative year, not only for our business, but for growers and cannabis connoisseurs worldwide,” said in a statement Derry Brett, founder of Barney’s Farm Genetics and CEO of the newly formed group.
He added: “This is more than a business merger — it’s a game changer, uniting our reputation for prestige genetics with Sensi’s vast library of heritage seed and ILGM’s loyal customer base of home growing enthusiasts. Once combined, we’ll be able to offer growers the most unique, elevated and sought after cannabis genetics on the market.”
Statements followed also from the rest of the leadership.

Ernst Rustenhoven, the CEO of ILGM, said that the true beneficiaries of the collaboration will be the global community of cannabis growers.

Barney’s Farm Genetics was founded in April 1986 in Amsterdam. It’s one of the most famous cannabis banks hailing from the Netherlands. The company specializes in cannabis seed breeding.
