How to Vape Weed

Vape pens have become a popular method of cannabis consumption in recent years. There is a wide variety of cannabis oils, cartridges, and pens. If you are considering diving into vape carts, here is a quick guide to what is available on the market.

A vape cartridge or "cart" is a small glass vessel that contains cannabis-infused oil or another concentrate. Carts come in various well-known strains and are typically sold in half-gram or gram increments. They are loved for their potency and flavorful vapour.

Typically, a vape pen comprises a battery that works with a cartridge. The battery heats an atomizer in the cartridge, which heats up and activates the various compounds in the cannabis oil.

While all vaporizers accomplish the same goal, there are critical differences between products requiring different hardware and maintenance.

510 thread

The term "vape pen" refers to a style of vaporizer that looks like a pen. Named after the threading at the bottom of the cartridge, 510's are the most common and universal style. Available in either disposable or refillable and rechargeable form, they are a prime choice for the daily smoker.

Disposable pens

Disposable vape pens are trendy and convenient due to their completeness, housing a battery, cartridge, and mouthpiece. Disposable pens are ideal for trying out new strains and enjoying the benefits of a vape with little worry about upkeep and maintenance.

Device-specific

These Specialized gadgets often allow for greater control over temperature and other features. Still, a significant downside is that these specific carts are not always available in every dispensary. For example, various brands, like PAX, have carts compatible only with their batteries and are usually only available at specifically licensed retailers.

Common Concentrates

Concentrates have grown in popularity in recent years, thanks partly to the innovations of extractors who have developed a wide range of products: budder, shatter, wax, sauce, diamonds, live resin, and live rosin, among several others. Because concentrates' texture, viscosity, and stability vary widely, not all concentrates make their way into vape cartridges. Here are a few concentrates you will find in vape cartridges.

Distillate

Distillate oils are derived from an intricate extraction process that singles out desired cannabinoids. Because of this, distillations can often produce yields with purity as high as 99% THC or CBD. However, terpenes and other compounds can be stripped away, drastically impacting flavour. Terpenes are often then infused back in for taste.

 Live Resin

Live resin is a type of butane hash oil (BHO) frequently found in cartridges. It has an excellent flavour profile. Flash frozen to preserve freshness, the terpenes and cannabinoids are then extracted to leave behind a very potent concentrate. Generally more expensive than other options, live resin carts are regarded as some of the highest quality vape options available.

"Live" refers to using live cannabis plant material as starting matter. Unlike "live resin, " live rosin " is made without chemical solvents. The fresh frozen plants are squeezed under immense pressure and heat to extract a concentrated oil. Live rosin is, therefore, a purer, solventless concentrate.

Full-spectrum extract

Full-spectrum extracts provide the cannabinoid and terpene profile typically found in the cannabis strain from which it came. Compounds work together, producing the entourage effect and a more holistic experience. Vape carts made with full-spectrum extracts will contain THC, CBD, other cannabinoids, and nearly 500 other bioactive compounds found in the plant.

Vape Devices

Most vape pens can control temperature. Still, generic batteries only have one temperature setting. Advanced devices will offer a range of locations or the ability to alter the temperature. Some devices even come with downloadable apps that can give you detailed information, such as the dosage of weed inhaled.

Vape carts

You must buy carts that are compatible with your battery. For example, with a 510 battery, you'll need 510 cartridges. If you choose a specific device, you'll need to find a retailer that stocks that device's specialized carts. If you are looking for ease of use and purchase, then the classic 510 is your best bet.

Depending on the effects required, different concentrates may serve better than others. If you desire the full power of the cannabis plant, the full-spectrum extract may be best. A CBD-dominant cartridge is probably best if you're looking to find support for day-to-day stress.
