Snoop Dogg is No Longer Smoking Weed?
Snoop Dogg made the announcement of the year last week when he said in a surprise post that he is quitting smoking weed. It’s difficult to imagine a world where the legendary rapper is not actually pulling on a fat roll. Snoop is an icon on the weed scene in the U.S. and much of the world for decades now. However, his announcement that he has stopped smoking might not mean anything in the end.
Snoop Dogg’s announcement that he is to quit smoking weed has made the headlines all around. It almost felt as if someone announced that the Himalayas are no longer the highest mountain in the world.
“After much consideration and conversation with my family, I’ve decided to give up smoke,” Snoop wrote in a message shared on Instagram and X (previously Twitter), on Thursday, Nov. 16. “Please respect my privacy at this time.”
The smoking pot habits of Snoop Dogg have been a subject that tabloids have routinely revisited and detailed over the years. If not his music, then joints are probably the first thing that people think of when someone hails Snoopzilla’s name.
Last year’s story that his private blunt roller prepared anywhere between 75 and 150 rolls a day has probably been exaggerated. In fact, even the rapper himself denied that he smokes that much. (Indeed, who has the lung for that?). A question remains: if Snoop is no longer smoking, does that mean that he will hire a professional baker or something in the future?
Snoop’s Announcement Left Fans Baffled
Ever since the rapper shared the unexpected update, there has been a lot of speculation on the internet about what’s going on. Snoop did not disclose any reasons why he quits smoking weed in the first place, which could easily explain the torrent of comments that followed. All he shared in a follow-up update on the day after the announcement was a simply captioned selfie that said “Natural high.”
Some of Snoop’s fans expressed their disbelief at the rapper’s decision. “Today isn’t April Fools day Snoop,” one of them said.
Others guessed that this is only a game he’s playing. That something’s on the way, perhaps a new business venture related to a non-smokable way of consuming THC. “This is probably just gonna be some viral campaign where he launches his own line of vapes or edibles or something,” someone said.
There were also those who offered support to the rapper and suggested that he may be experiencing a health problem, which is why he needs to stop smoking.
“Don’t worry Snoop, we your disciples will carry on your legacies… we’ll smoke on your behalf… stay strong for us,” another comment read.
Snoop has been very open about his cannabis use in the past, and he is probably not going to remain silent for too long about what is happening. The music icon is also very active in the cannabis sector, with multiple business projects and collaborations ongoing at all times.
His most recent business collaboration includes a limited edition bag-lighter combo, together with bestie Marta Steward. The stylish bag screams purple and makes sure that its users “are always equipped to light hard-to-reach places, no matter, ahem, what they’re lighting.”
Whatever the case may be, if the rapper is transitioning to non-smokable marijuana or he is entirely making a stop because of certain health reasons, it’s something that fans and followers of Snoop are likely to hear more about very soon. In the meantime, we wish him all the very best.
