Snoop Dogg has opened a second coffee shop in Amsterdam. During a visit to the city for two concerts at Melkweg, he inaugurated the new location in the city center. The De Kroon coffee shop, located at Oudebrugsteeg 26, has now been renamed Da Dogg House.

The first Da Dogg House was established in 2024. In August, Coardell Broadus, Snoop Dogg's son, visited the original location to officially rename it Funky Monkey. The coffee shop was initially called SWED, in honor of one of the rapper's hits. However, the city of Amsterdam deemed "Smoke Weed Every Day" to be a cannabis advertisement, leading to the name change to Da Dogg House.

Snoop Dogg isn't the only American celebrity to have his name attached to coffee shops in Amsterdam; boxer Mike Tyson recently opened a second establishment of his own as well. In total, there are now four celebrity-owned coffee shops in the city. The primary audience for these establishments is tourists, and the prices reflect this.

It remains to be seen whether fans of Snoop Dogg and Mike Tyson will continue to be welcome at these coffee shops in the future. Mayor Halsema had previously proposed the "Resident Criterion," which would restrict foreign tourists from accessing coffee shops. Although the city council initially blocked this proposal, the Amsterdam Labour Party (PvdA) has since changed its stance and is now supporting a ban on tourists at coffee shops in the city center. After the municipal elections on March 18, it will become clearer whether this "Resident Criterion" will be implemented.
