Rapper and cultural icon Snoop Dogg has become the second American celebrity cannabis legend to finance in a cannabis café in Amsterdam.

In 2023 former boxer and now weed entrepreneur Mike Tyson became co-owner of a coffee shop in the city’s central area and now Snoop Dogg has followed suit.

The coffee shop in question, formerly known as Funky Monkey is now "Smoke Weed Every Day" or SWED, with the decor representing the star's legacy.

The choices available to potential customers “feature a unique blend of high-quality products, exclusive strains, artisanal edibles and top-tier cannabis accessories, all hand-picked by Snoop himself”. The press release states.

Is this Snoops' First Retail Venture?

The Amsterdam store is the second SWED store with the first opening in L.A in July. “Amsterdam has always embraced cannabis and so have I. It’s only right that I bring SWED global to this iconic city." -Snoop Dogg

Snoop did not attend the store opening as he is still busy in Paris where he was a torch bearer for the Olympic games. According to documents seen by the press, neither Snoop nor Tyson is the actual owner of the licences for their coffee shop licences. This is in line with the Netherlands' stringent rules and the prohibition of the opening of new outlets. Both licences are said to be held in the name of a local businessman, Rachid Bahida.
