The Perfect Grow, Episode 3, Substrates
The Perfect Grow is all about getting close to perfection. This video series will help you grow and harvest a high-quality product even if you are new to growing plants.Â
This new season takes place in Bangkok, Thailand, where cannabis is legal. Several international cannabis brands have set up shop in Thailand. This includes the famous seed bank Royal Queen Seeds, which has set up shop with its own cannabis store.
For this new season, Royal Queen Seeds cultivation specialist Max will teach Thijn, a beginner who has never grown or smoked cannabis, the best indoor growing techniques.
In the first episode, Max showed us how to set up a perfectly equipped grow tent. The second episode of season 2 was dedicated to choosing seeds. In this third episode, we will focus on an essential element, the substrate, that is to say, the support on which the plants grow.
It is possible to use different substrates such as coco coir or to grow hydroponically. For this session, however, Max and Thijn will grow in soil. Max has chosen to use Plagron Light Mix soil. This soil contains few nutrients. It will therefore be necessary to add fertilizers and additives in liquid or solid form during the growing cycle.
Max recommends not to buy cheap soil of unknown origin. In some poor-quality soils, you can even find insects that could attack your plants.
The Plagron brand offers five ranges of products adapted to different growing techniques: "100% Natural", ideal for organic growing, "100% Terra", "100% Coco", "100% Terra" and "Universal". Plagron's substrate selector will help you find the right product for you.
