Making THC drinks is easy, you can infuse everything from fruity mocktails to steaming mugs of hot chocolate.

Whilst different from smoking or vaping the results are similar. THC, CBD, and other cannabinoids worki in your body to produce euphoria, relaxation, and potential pain relief.

Infusing beverages with THC allows for precise dosing, and avoids the lung irritation and side effects that are caused by smoking and vaping. Cannabis tinctures also have very little to no flavour at all which is great for those who do not like the taste of cannabis.

With THC drinks, Cannabis is absorbed via the mouth and throat and not the digestive system. You will feel the effects within 10–20 minutes. Because of their fast absorption, cannabis drinks peak within an hour and taper off after about 2–6 hours.

What is a THC Tincture?

THC Tincture is a cannabis-infused alcohol-based liquid and is one of the safest and most effective ways to consume cannabis.

Making tincture at home is easy. Put some decarboxylated bud in a sealable mason jar, add alcohol, and keep it in a dark place for two to three weeks. Once it has turned a vivid deep green, strain out all the bud and voila, you have your homemade tincture!

It is best to use 200-proof food-grade ethanol  (ethyl alcohol) for cannabis tincture. It works as a natural solvent that will separate the desired cannabinoids from the plant material.

How to Make THC Drinks

  • Choose your preferred base, tea, lemonade, juice, sparkling water, or milk and coffee.
  • Add, spices, or any other ingredient that goes well with your base.
  • Sweeten your drink with honey, sugar, or other alternatives.
  • Add the desired amount of tincture, ideally use a dropper bottle and pipette.
  • Go slow and low until you find your perfect dosage.

Types of THC Drinks

  • Chai tea, green tea, matcha tea, herbal blends and iced teas make relaxing, aromatic bases for THC infusions.
  • Coffee, lattes, cappuccinos, and other caffeinated drinks.
  • Fresh fruit and vegetable juices for nutrient-rich cannabis beverages.
  • Lemonades and other citrus flavours pair perfectly with the cannabis flavour profile.
  • Mocktails: like margaritas and daiquiris, are great for socialising and parties
  • Fruit smoothies, protein shakes, or milkshakes can be a nutritious treat.
  • Flavoured soda and sparkling water can help you quench your thirst with some uplifting bubbles.

How to Store THC Drinks

Keep away from lights and store THC drinks in a cool, dark place. Light can degrade THC potentially reducing its potency. Once opened, transfer it to a fridge.

Maintain a consistent temperature and avoid fluctuations. The ideal temperature for an opened bottle of THC drink is between 60–70°F.
Tightly seal your drink to prevent air and moisture from getting inside which can lead to oxidation, potentially affecting taste and potency

Safety Tips

  • Start with very small doses of between 2–5 mg of THC.
  • Wait at least 1–2 hours for the effects to begin. THC can take 10–20 minutes to kick in via drinks.

  • Like other cannabis products, THC drinks may cause anxiety, dry mouth, dizziness, or paranoia.
  • Do not attempt to operate vehicles or machinery whilst under the influence.
