Hundreds of cannabis plants worth thousands of pounds were found discarded by the roadside in Manchester yesterday morning.
Police are now on the hunt for those responsible for dumping the plants estimated to be worth £15,000.
About 340 plants were found still in their pots on a patch of waste-ground in Chadderton, Oldham
A member of the public spotted the plants and alerted Greater Manchester Police who seized the haul.
Greater Manchester Police Chadderton uploaded pictures onto their Twitter account of the cannabis including one showing a police car filled to the brim with bagged up plants.
In a bizarre version of 'how many pennies in the jar' GMP Chadderton asked their followers to guess 'how many cannabis plants in the Ford Fiesta police car'.
Inquiries have been made in order to establish the perpetrator and also why the plants were left by the side of the road.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: ‘We are trying to establish the reason why the cannabis plants were left there and where they came from.'
The haul was found at 9.30am yesterday.
Local police have yet to make any arrests in connection with the plants.
