Thailand's Cannabis Policy Changes Again: Governments in Chaos

The Thai government has been pursuing a true back-and-forth policy regarding cannabis in recent weeks. First, a medical marijuana pass was supposed to be introduced, then not, then introduced again 30 or 60 days later; however, the measure is now suddenly back in effect. Meanwhile, the Thai prime minister has been suspended. The political chaos is ongoing.
The Constitutional Court of Thailand suspended Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra due to a leaked phone call between her and former Cambodian leader Hun Sen. Her resignation seems a matter of time. This comes amid a growing political crisis. As a result, Thailand's cannabis policy is spinning out of control.
Recreational cannabis is banned, but medical marijuana is easy to obtain.
Recreational cannabis use is now suddenly banned. Recreational cannabis is therefore not permitted. You need a prescription to consume weed. But apparently, such a prescription is very easy to obtain. A Thai cannabis dispensary announced humorously and reassuringly:
"Okay, the hassle is officially back. As of July 1st, you officially need a prescription to buy our medicine. One symptom that qualifies for a prescription is the paralyzing anxiety caused by the ever-changing broccoli laws! A bit of a bummer, but as always, we have a cunning plan! A lot is going on behind the scenes, and we're working to make this process completely smooth for all our dear 'patients.' The official prescription form was signed today and can be picked up starting tomorrow at 9:00 AM at the Khlong Prau Clinic, just down the street from the temple. Ask for Pim, the traditional Thai herbalist. Then you bring it to us, we'll keep it in the shop, and you can come for a month. As far as we know, it's FREE! We look forward to continuing to care for all your medical needs as usual in the future."
Whether this measure will last long remains to be seen, as the uncertain political situation makes it difficult to make predictions.
