Mike Tyson Urges Trump to Move Forward on Cannabis Legalisation.

Mike Tyson, the legendary American boxer, is leading his political offensive, but not in the ring. After leading a coalition of athletes and artists calling on the US federal government to move forward without delay on federal cannabis reform, Tyson sent a direct letter to President Donald Trump.
"The classification of marijuana as a Schedule I drug is ridiculous," said Mike Tyson, who sent a letter to President Donald Trump questioning why it remains federally prohibited. At the same time, so many states have access to recreational and medicinal cannabis.
In the letter, endorsed by legends such as Kevin Durant, Allen Iverson, Dez Bryant, and Roy Jones Jr., Tyson demands three key actions: reclassifying the plant to Schedule III to allow for medicinal and research use. He also demands pardons for people imprisoned for minor cannabis offences, who remain in prison or serving sentences following former President Joe Biden's pardon.
Tyson has his line of cannabis products, which may be one of the reasons why he is calling for the elimination of banking barriers that prevent hundreds of thousands of cannabis entrepreneurs from accessing loans or storing their profits in the federal banking system.
Tyson for federal cannabis reform
Tyson argues that removing barriers to the cannabis market is an opportunity for Donald Trump to do "something real" for this sector of the economy, a sector in which presidents have been lukewarm. For Tyson, regulating the sector's economic rules will also strengthen the economy and social justice in the United States.
While much of the United States has legalized cannabis at the state level, federal law remains stuck in another century. For Tyson, this contradiction is not only absurd but unfair. His brand already earns millions, but his goal goes beyond business: he seeks to break down the stigma and open the door to those still facing charges for simple joints.
