TWO Dartford men have been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the production of cannabis and abstracting electricity following the discovery of a cannabis factory in Hoo.
Officers were called to a disused social club in Stoke Road on May 24 at 1.30pm after it was reported more than 800 cannabis plants had been found - one of the biggest hauls to be discovered in Medway to date.
Police is now appealing for people to come forward with information about the cannabis factory.
Investigating officer, Detective Constable Sanj Tanday, said: "This is one of the biggest hauls of cannabis we have ever discovered in Medway, and it's estimated to be worth hundreds of thousands of pounds.
"Seizing this number of plants is extremely significant, as there is no doubt they would otherwise be sold and distributed widely.
"Sometimes people ask us how to spot cannabis factories. Some of the tell-tale signs are lights being left on all day and night, windows covered, high humidity and a pungent smell, and lots of different people coming and going - although no one actually living there.
"If you're suspicious about a property in your area, let us know."
