Three men from the UK who were found guilty of possessing drugs in Dubai have each been jailed for four years.
Grant Cameron and Suneet Jeerh, both 25, and Karl Williams, 26, received the sentences after being found in possession of a synthetic cannabis known as ‘spice'.
The London-based trio were visiting the Gulf state last July when they were detained.
The men have claimed they were tortured by police, including having guns aimed at their heads, with Mr Williams adding he also had his testicles electrocuted.
Prisoner campaign group Reprieve said: ‘The central fact of this case remains that these men were tortured by police, but there has been no proper investigation into their abuse.
‘The only reasonable course of action for the UAE authorities now is to grant these men clemency, release them and allow them to return home to their families.'
British prime minister David Cameron has previously revealed his concern at the allegations the three Britons were tortured.
However, local police deny reports the men were beaten and threatened.
‘We continue to press for evidence of a full, impartial and independent investigation,' Mr Cameron has said.
The president of UAE is due to visit Britain later this week.
Tracy Cameron, Mr Cameron's mother, confirmed to Sky News she had seen her son for two hours on Thursday and that he was being held in ‘quite harsh conditions'.
Mrs Cameron was also confident her son would be released.
‘I do believe that my son will be given a pardon in July and he will be home with his family,' she added.
