Most of the cannabis that you have consumed in your life has probably been smoked either with or without nicotine. This is unlikely to change shortly, despite tobacco prices continuing to rise. However, sooner or later things will change as many of the governments of Europe are looking at cracking down on smoking and nicotine use. The UK included

Perhaps this means that more and more people will begin to use pipes to smoke cannabis in its pure form, as has long been the case in the USA.

What About Edibles?

Eating or drinking cannabis is of course nothing new either. Bhang is a traditional Indian hemp preparation that was first made thousands of years ago. When cannabis spread from India and China to the West, hemp was also added to food to achieve an intoxicating or healing effect.

Before the turn of the millennium, eating cannabis was known primarily in the form of space cakes or space cookies. The issue with the oral ingestion of cannabis is that the effect only sets in up to an hour later and the strength of the impact is also more difficult to dose than when smoking. Nevertheless, quite a few people assume that the market for cannabis edibles will grow strongly. But more than anything remains a question of the law. Whilst in the UK we already have a fairly large selection of CBD edibles, as THC is still illegal you still have to make edible products yourself at home

Therefore, the question of the future of cannabis consumption and its popularity will always be related to its legal status. If cannabis is legal, then there follows a legal market. Companies can then come along and produce products in large quantities for general sale. This, of course, then influences the form of consumption to some extent, along with advertising and social trends.

However, if it remains illegal, there is no market for which you can produce products. Because of this, smoking is usually still the easiest and most popular way to consume cannabis. It is also the most convenient and cost-efficient way to indulge versus eating/drinking or vaping cannabis. Therefore, smoking will probably continue to be the most popular form of cannabis consumption for the foreseeable future. Of course, if cannabis legalization continues, new products will become available, meaning edibles will no doubt become more popular and common, along with vaporizers. But, as we have already addressed, everything depends on the legality of cannabis in your home country.
