Don't help these cannabis farm gangs
IN the war on drugs, in which police do daily battle with criminal gangs, it appears some people have been tempted to join the wrong side

It is thought qualified electricians have been hired to help gangs set up cannabis farms in Liverpool, as police have discovered some that have been set up to a very high standard.
Sophisticated installations suggest professional trades people have agreed to turn a blind eye for a big cash-in-hand pay day.
But any people who are tempted to help criminal operations in such a way need to search their consciences.
As police have said, cannabis is not the harmless drug it is often portrayed and perceived to be - while those who grow cannabis can be directly funding organised gangs that are often responsible for gun crime.
Anyone who has suspicions about the supply of hi-tech lamps and heating equipment - or general suspicions about the setting up of potential cannabis farms in their community - must do the right thing by alerting the police.
While some criminals have apparently paid electricians to help them, others have taken a different route - as has been seen when operations have been discovered by firefighters who have uncovered faulty electrics.
In the last 18 months, 24 cannabis farms have been found by firefighters across Merseyside.
As well as putting fire crews at risk, these blazes caused by faulty electrics can threaten the public and neighbouring properties.
Whatever the circumstances, the message is clear to everyone - if you can help police clamp down on these drug gangs, you must.
