A man was found to be growing cannabis in his kidderminster home after setting fire to his carpet.
Mark Soper, prosecuting, said: "He's a bit of an unlucky man really. He set fire to the carpet in his bathroom by a disregarded cigarette end and called the fire brigade. They came and extinguished the fire and noticed a tent which contained the plants."
"His family are from the Caribbean and over there it's common practice to get the juice from the plants and drink it for medicinal purposes. Once the plants are grown, he puts the leaves in a blender and drinks them.
