Kieran Murphy and Laurence McAllister were yesterday convicted of attempting to bring the drugs worth up to £750,000 into Northern Ireland in April.
They were caught by police who carried out a search of a lorry they were travelling in at Loch Ryan port before it boarded a ferry to Belfast.
The lorry, driven by south Armagh man Murphy, was being used to transport horses. Horse dealer McAllister, from Kells, was with Murphy in the lorry when the police stopped them.
Four large bags filled with cannabis resin were discovered between two stalls occupied by horses.
Both men will be sentenced at a later date.
