Four men have been arrested following an incident in which a man was stabbed whilst a burglary was taking place in Bognor Regis.

Three men forced their way into a house in Collyer Avenue, Bognor Regis on Friday afternoon and stole cannabis plants and a 22-year-old man was stabbed in the hand.

Sussex Police spotted the suspects' car and followed it but it crashed and rolled over on the A29 in Ockley, Surrey. The men had no serious injuries despite the severity of the crash and they tried to escape from the scene but were caught by police.

The three men, all from London, who were in the car were arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and remain in custody and the man who had been stabbed at the property was also arrested.

The stabbed man was taken to hospital for treatment for his injuries and after he was discharged he was arrested for the production of cannabis and bailed until April 25th.

Detective Sergeant John Kalli for West Sussex CID said: "Quick intelligence work and swift action by local road traffic officers identified the car that the suspects were travelling in. Officers then followed the car before it eventually rolled over and came to a stop on the A29 Ockley.

"Neither of the three men were injured and despite attempting to again evade officers they were arrested and taken to custody where they remain for questioning."
