Just one month remains until the 23rd edition of Spannabis, Europe's largest cannabis trade show. After over 20 years in Catalonia, the event is relocating to the Bilbao Exhibition Centre (BEC), approximately 600 km from Barcelona.

Spannabis was founded in 2002 at the Palau Sant Jordi and has been held at the Fira de Cornellà since 2005. Over the years, it has become a leader in the European cannabis scene, attracting between 25,000 and 30,000 visitors from over 50 countries, as well as approximately 500 exhibitors.

New Location: Bilbao Exhibition Centre

The new venue in Bilbao offers an impressive 150,000 m² of space, spread across several modern pavilions and multifunctional zones. This represents a significant upgrade, allowing for a greater number of attendees compared to the current capacity of 30,000. Bilbao, a dynamically developing city in the Basque Country, has the potential to become the new center of cannabis culture and business in Spain. Its growing community and supportive environment for the cannabis industry make this location a strategic choice.

Organizers emphasize that this change opens up new opportunities for both visitors and companies in the sector.

What's New at Spannabis 2026?

The Bilbao edition aims to elevate the event even further. While the current format will be maintained, many new features will be introduced. Highlights include:

- An innovation and technology zone showcasing the latest developments in cultivation, genetics, and extraction.

- Live demonstrations providing insights into current trends.

- A sensory experience zone for exploring the aromas and properties of various cannabis varieties.

Spannabis Champions Cup and World Cannabis Conference

One of the program highlights, the Spannabis Champions Cup, will also take place. The competition returns with a refreshed format and new categories, encompassing not only flower but also derivative products such as oils, edibles, and sustainable solutions. The awards ceremony will be held on Friday, April 17th, at 7:00 PM.

Additionally, the event will feature the World Cannabis Conference (WCC), bringing together experts from science, medicine, and politics, as well as key figures from the cannabis industry.

What Does Spannabis Offer?

Spannabis is much more than a traditional industry trade show; it provides three days filled with knowledge, networking, and experience. On-site, attendees can expect to find:

- Seed banks
