Snoop Dogg's Half-Smoked Joints Auctioned for $148,000

Half-smoked joints from Snoop Dogg have recently sold for an impressive $148,000 at auction. Originally, the piece of art was valued at $70,000, but the final sale price more than doubled that amount.
The auction house, 32auctions, introduced the collection titled "Ashes to Art" with the statement: "This isn't just art—it's history. A revolutionary blend of pop culture, cannabis heritage, and contemporary visual art."
The collection, known as The Joint Venture x Snoop Dogg, features personally smoked joints from Snoop Dogg, which have been preserved in pigment, epoxy, and glitter, and come with Snoop's signature.
The centerpiece of the collection, titled "Snoop Doggy Dogg Genesis Burn," includes Snoop Dogg’s LAPD mugshot taken in 1993 when he was accused of murder, a charge from which he was later acquitted. The description of the unique work by artist Erica Kovitz reads: "Each object evokes the remnants of iconic smoking sessions, reinterpreting them as bold, unique works—part relic, part rebellion—referencing hip-hop history, pop culture, and the ritual of smoking itself.
What Does This Mean for Cannabis Culture?
Combining mixed media, mythology, and personal signature, The Joint Venture bridges the worlds of art, identity, and cannabis culture." This groundbreaking collection pushes boundaries by transforming transient moments into lasting works of art. With The Joint Venture, ash becomes art, and smoke tells a story.
