A 25-year-old man was given a 12-month suspended prison sentence after police found 15 cannabis plants at his home.

Karen Ball, for the prosecution, told the court that on June 24 this year officers had been called to Peebles home after he had reported a burglary.
The court later heard that the defendant's home had been burgled by masked men and he was assaulted during the break-in.
It was when the scene-of-crime officers came to inspect the house that the drugs were found.
When searching the property, officers smelt cannabis and on searching the house they found a bag containing skunk cannabis, 15 cannabis plants and growing equipment.
Rod Ball, for the defence, told the court that the defendant had a difficult childhood and had used cannabis as a way of blotting out bad memories since he was around 14.
He suffered from depression and insomnia and the production of the Class B drug was said to have been entirely for his own personal use.
A probation report was prepared and magistrates were asked to read a personal statement written by Peebles.
The court heard how the defendant was not using cannabis now and was seeking counselling.
The defendant is currently unemployed because of his mental health issues but has a trust fund of £2,000 a month.
Peebles was sentenced to three months in prison, suspended for one year.
He was also ordered to pay £85 in costs and £80 in victim surcharge.
