Here is the 6th episode of season 2 of our video series on growing cannabis for beginners, The Perfect Grow. In this 2nd season, Max, a growing expert at Royal Queen Seeds, will teach you how to grow cannabis indoors.

Since 2022, cannabis has been legal in Thailand. This new season was filmed in Bangkok at the Royal Queen Seeds premises.

In previous episodes, Max has taught us how to set up a fully equipped grow tent, select cannabis seeds, the best nutrients or automate your space.

In this episode, we will focus on the problems related to the environment of your growing space. The goal of an indoor grower is to recreate a climate perfectly suited to growing plants. But each case is unique. The outdoor climate, the type of housing, the temperature and humidity are factors to take into account for plants that grow in the best conditions.

Here are some of the topics covered by Max in this new episode.

Environmental issues

Environmental issues are related to temperature, humidity, light or co2. In nature, cannabis easily adapts to different climatic conditions but mastering these parameters in indoor growing will allow you to optimize the results.

Excess or deficiency of nutrients

It is important to give your plants the right dose of the right nutrients at the right time. Excess or deficiency of nutrients can easily be seen on the leaves. For example, with an excess of nitrogen, your leaves will be a very dark green color.

pH and EC

These are important measurements to optimize the cultivation of your plants. The ideal pH (potential hydrogen) for cultivation is between 6 and 7. A bad pH will prevent your plants from absorbing nutrients. There are different techniques to measure, and lower or raise the pH in your nutrient solution.

Measuring EC (electroconductivity) will allow you to know precisely the amount of fertilizer needed for your plants depending on the period.

Pests

Pests are a very common problem in indoor crops because there are no predatory insects like outdoors. Among the parasites, we find in particular thrips and red spiders which can cause a lot of damage to your crops. The most important thing is to always keep a perfectly clean growing space. In the case of an infestation, there are very effective organic products.
