A ludicrous decision has been made by the Isle of Man authorities.
Martin Kewley who is a builder on the Island has ended up in court after police officers found a tiny amount of cannabis in the drawer next to his bed, the Daily Mail reports
Choosing not to caution Mr Kewley, police and prosecutors decided to take his case to Douglas Magistrates' Court.
Martin pleaded guilty to being in possession of the drug and was sentenced to six-month’s probation. His solicitor told the court that Kewley was experiencing difficult circumstances.
The drugs charity release called the decision 'ludicrous and a total waste of time and money'
However, the local authorities defended their step and cannot be brought to account, as the Isle of Man runs its own jurisdiction as a self-governing British Crown dependency.
