Heat lamps confiscated in cannabis farm raids have been donated to Lincoln City FC.
The club is using the equipment seized by police to make lighting rigs for use on the Sincil Bank pitch.
The club said the idea came from similar schemes at Notts County, Oldham and Rochdale, where the lamps are used to help the grass to grow.
Lincolnshire Police said it was good to see the seized equipment being put to use in the community.
'Good use'
Head groundsman Phil Kime said: "Over a season the playing surface gets a lot of wear and tear, especially the South Park goalmouth, which doesn't get any sunlight for at least four months of the year.
"These lamps will make a great difference to the pitch."
The lights will be used to heat up the soil and replicate warmer conditions.
The club is looking to construct a mobile frame to hang the lights from and will use the stadium generator to power them in order to keep running costs down.
A spokeswoman for Lincolnshire Police said: "We are incredibly pleased to be able to put these lamps to good use after they were seized as part of criminal investigations.
"Once items like these are ordered to be destroyed there is a cost to the force to get rid of them, so not only does it help financially but it puts them to good community use."
The force said it hoped to make more lamps available in the future.
