THE Staffordshire cannabis grower who chose an overgrown field and derelict barns to start their own drug farm is in for a nasty surprise
After all, it's hard to keep 8ft tall cannabis plants a secret. And - acting on a tip-off - police from Wombourne turned out yesterday evening to remove the entire crop.
A police spokeswoman said officers were alerted by a member of the public who spotted suspicious activity. And when they went to the overgrown land in an isolated location off Union Lane in Trysull, South Staffordshire, at 5.30pm yesterday, they found a row of giant cannabis plants, each between 6ft and 8ft tall.
The officers removed the plants and carried them away in extra-large evidence bags.
