The former "England's Strongest Man" was jailed yesterday for possession with intent to supply cannabis.

immy Marku, 37, of Buckinghamshire Road, Harrow, was sentenced to nine months in prison at Harrow Crown Court with three other men.

Marku took the title of "England's Strongest Man" in 2006, 2007 and 2008.

The other men, from Brent, Adriatik Dosti, 39, and Hugh Gordon McCourt, 41, were sentenced to ten weeks, and 36-year-old Anton Prenga was sentenced to 13 months.

Marku, McCourt and Dosti were spotted doing a drugs deal in Willesden High Street on November 18, 2010, by officers. They were arrested in Ellis Close, Wembley, where officers uncovered ten wrapped packages in the boot of McCourt's car, revealing 10.2 kg of herbal cannabis with a street value of £65,000. Prenga was identified as having a co-ordinating role and was arrested on May 9, 2011.

Detective Inspector Steven Miles, of Middle Market Drugs Partnership, said: "As a result of this operation, more than £65,000 of cannabis, no doubt bound for London's streets, has been removed from circulation.

"The sentences are a reflection of the determination of all agencies involved to tackle those criminal networks intent on supplying drugs and making a profit from their illicit activities."
