Snoop Dogg took control of Death Row Records (DRR) back in 2022 and then went on to launch Death Row Records Cannabis at the start of 2023. Snoop is aiming to restore the label to the top of its game in the record industry by getting behind artists, hip-hop, and weed culture.

What is the Death Row Records Legacy?

Founded back in 1991, Death Row Records became probably the most influential force in hip-hop, with its impressive roster ofl artists that gave a lot to the scene. Under Snoop Dogg', the label is aiming continue on its path of innovation as well as its celebration of hip-hop and cannabis.

This recent announcement is now being realised with this limited edition collection that honours one of Death Rows' biggest artists, 2Pac and features never-before-seen photos of the rapper.

2Pac first joined Death Row in 1995 and quickly became one of the most significant rappers of all time. Looking past the music, 2Pac was also a strong mouthpiece for both political and social change, utilising his position to advocate for the Black communities of America.

Snoop Dogg and 2Pacs' connection is founded in a history that goes further the label, most famously probably cemented by the fact that it was 2Pac who handed Snoop his very first blunt. It's a story that is now burned into cannabis culture and one that Snoop re-told when 2Pac was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame back in 2017.

"That first blunt sparked a friendship that ran deep," - Snoop Dogg

The 2Pac collection consists of five strains. Fans to choose from 4 phenotypes from an old favourite, Alien OG and get the opportunity to vote for their favourite phone or "Take" via a QR code. The winner will then become part of the permanent 2Pac collection. Additionally to the flower itself, customers will also be gifted with one of four exclusive, never-before-released photos of 2Pac along with a Death Row matchbook, recreated from the shoot.
