British grandma arrested for growing cannabis to treat medical condition
Mrs Gibson had been using a legal cannabis product called 'Sativex' for around ten years to treat symptoms of multiple sclerosis but following the sudden withdrawal of the prescription in early 2019 due to the high cost of the drug she decided to seek alternative pain relief.

Lesley said: “We had only 10 small plants. They were in our spare room and produced just enough cannabis for me to treat my symptoms. To find myself in that situation was frightening, I’m a law-abiding person, I’ve never done anything dishonest in my life. It was cruel, horrible, wicked and pointless to pursue me and Mark for all these months and it’s taken a massive toll on my health".
