Hopefully soon, it’ll be everywhere. Which brings us to an exciting new development in the cannabis industry: the weed vending machine. What’s more American than buying weed from a weed vending machine? That’s right. Just like key chains, candy, and soda pop, you can now get your grass on-the-go. And it might just be the future of buying weed. It’s partially thanks to American Green, a Phoenix-based medical cannabis company. They recently teased an exciting new prototype, and it allows you to buy more than just pot.The Future of Buying Cannabis?
American Green’s amazing new machine will sell everything from casino chips and cigarettes to medication, booze, and even guns. Buyers will have to set up an account with a verified ID and prescription information before using the fancy new machinery. Similarly, the company’s weed vending machine will be nearly impossible to rob. Even if someone did swipe your account info, they’d also need your fingerprint for a quick scan to make sure you are who you say you are. Oh, and the machine will totally know if the finger is from a dead or alive person. Spooky, right? The new weed vending machine was designed for drug stores, casinos, and weed dispensaries with customers who prefer fast and faceless transactions. However, it’s not the first of its kind. And it won’t be the last!Where You Can Find Every Weed Vending Machine in the U.S.
In 2014, Colorado showed off its very first machine at an invite-only event in the city of Avon. It was built by American Green and created by ZaZZZ. It featured cool interactive touch-screens and top-notch security verification. The machine was later installed at the Herbal Elements dispensary in Eagle-Vail, Colorado, making it the very first of its kind in America. If you are ever in the area, you can see it for yourself. However, it only sold edibles and cannabis-infused products. A year later, Seattle got their very first machine for medical weed. It was added to the Seattle Caregivers dispensary. Unlike newer prototypes, an employee must check your ID in person before you buy from it. So it’s not a totally faceless transaction. However, that weed vending machine lets you buy cannabis flowers, not just edibles, and treats. For more weed vending machines, venture out west. In California, machines are popping up in select locations. There’s even one at a university in Oakland. It was added just for students who are studying the cannabis business! Road trip, anyone?
