Why Use Air Pots?

Air pots offer the Indoor cannabis grower so many additional benefits that using them is a no brainer. Air pots are manufactured from perforated, dimpled, recycled plastic and have holes all over their surface area.

Air pots are perfect for indoor growing. They produce sturdy plants with excellent lateral branching and close internodal spacing. Making them ideal for cannabis plants.

Air Pruning.

When the roots hit the sides of the pot, they are forced through the holes. Once exposed to the air, the roots are naturally pruned, as the exposure to light makes them die off." This stimulates root branching, and new roots sprout from the old. This process repeats until the entire pot is full of a web of roots.

Increased, Strong Root System.

The roots of plants grown in conventional get very long. They spiral round and round, strangling themselves and becoming "root bound", struggling to nourish the plant above ground efficiently. This large mass of roots can soak up considerably more nutrition making for happier, more robust, healthier plants. Air pots work to their maximum potential to constantly create shorter, stronger roots.

Free Draining.

The holes in your Air pot ensure complete drainage and aeration of the growing medium. This creates the ideal conditions for beneficial bacteria to multiply and deliver more nutrients to the plant.

Disease Resistance.

Your plant receives oxygen from all sides in an air pot meaning your medium dries out fast. This is very helpful as undrained "standing water" in your pot leads to root rot diseases.

Using Air Pots for Seeds

Improved air circulation makes for more nourishing growing media and more consistent germination. Air pots will stimulate early lateral root branching and increase healthy bacteria that the seedling can quickly absorb.

Using Air Pots for Cuttings

Air pots help your cuttings develop a strong root network. They also help minimise "transfer shock" as there is little disturbance to the root area when repotting.

What Size?

Water escapes through the holes of air pots, and the media dries out quickly. This means you may need to water more often. Use a bigger size air pot than you would typically use. This is to increase the volume of water available to the roots.

How to Water.

Using a low impact watering technique like a dripper is a good idea. This stops vital water flow from pushing any media out of the pots holes. Losing media from your pot may impact the root mass negatively.
