A VIETNAMESE man has appeared before Grimsby Magistrates Court in connection with a cannabis factory uncovered by police in Grimsby on Monday.
As reported, teams raided the former Barclay's Bank on Cleethorpe Road, where they discovered 1,000 cannabis plants thought to be worth at least £579,000 in most of the building's rooms - including the vault.
Today, 31- year-old Quy-Van Lee denied production of a quantity of cannabis and using - without due authority - a quantity of electricity.
Speaking through an interpreter, Lee - who appeared in custody, wearing a black hooded jacket - said he did not know the plants were cannabis and that he had "just come in there recently" and therefore knew nothing about the electricity.
