TWO suspected cannabis farmers were found hiding under a sofa after police raided a house containing 700 plants.
Officers went to investigate after reports of suspicious activity at the terraced house on Delph Lane, Woodhouse.
They broke in after no-one answered the door and discovered a sophisticated growing operation spread across four floors.
A spokesman for the Leeds inner north west neighbourhood policing team said: “Two suspects were found hiding beneath the sofa and have since been charged and remanded. Immigration services are also taking an interest in the case.”
The two Vietnamese men – Chien Nguyen, 46, and 35-year-old Hieu Nguyen – have been charged with cannabis production and are awaiting trial.
