Hound got high after munching marijuana left in the house but mobile footage of the caned canine staggering and drooling has sparked outrage from dog lovers

Video of a drugged-up dog stoned after swallowing its owner's $20 bag of cannabis has gone viral online after angering animal lovers.

Thousands have watched the pooch stagger and drool after feasting on the illegal stash.

Spaced-out Thor is seen staring glassy-eyed after wolfing the weed before the three-year-old pit-bull cross begins drooling then staggers into a door.

Owner Laura Milsee from Michigan can be heard to say: "He's super-duper f***ing fried."

She claims she posted the video online because she was concerned and wanted her boyfriend to see it.

"My boyfriend wasn't home," she told 7 Action News. "I couldn't Bluetooth the video to show him what he was doing so he said post it so I can see it.

"But by the time I posted it, people shared it."

She has come under fire from thousands of dog lovers with one YouTube user, Cindy Lou, raging: "Hope he doesn't die. Yeah, let's record it instead of getting help.

"She's more concerned with explaining to the vet and going to jail than she is about the dog."

Another user, Lefty Lucy, fumed: "That poor dog. I hope she is charged with cruelty to an animal. What is the matter with her? She is laughing at him."

But Laura, who said animal control are investigating the case, hit back: "Because I laughed at the end, people are taking it as though I'm cruel. I'm not.

"It was late. I had spoke to one of my girlfriends who is an animal advocate and she said to keep giving him water and bread.

"It was a mistake. I shouldn't have posted the video."
