Stoke St Michael cannabis farm worth £60,000 discovered

A 53-year-old man was arrested by police on suspicion of production of cannabis after the factory was discovered by police officers.

60 mature cannabis plants thought to have a street value of over £60,000 were found in agricultural buildings near the village by officers.
The 53-year-old man was later arrested in Glastonbury on suspicion of production and has been released on police bail pending further investigations.
The plants and growing equipment from were seized and will be sent to Avon and Somerset Police headquarters for forensic testing.
Local beat manager PC Claire Leonard said: "I want to reassure the local community that this type of crime is extremely rare in this part of the Mendips.
