A mum was stunned when her car was returned after its annual service with a cannabis joint on the front seat.
The surprise spliff was found by Donna Connellan, 25, when her Vauxhall Zafira was delivered back from a local garage in Nottingham after a £150 service.
When the mum-of-two went to check out the car after a mechanic dropped it off she discovered the suspicious looking partly-rolled reefer in the middle of the front passenger seat.
The incident happened on August 18 after she took her car into Evans Halshaw garage in Nottingham.
Donna, of Old Basford, Notts, said: "When we got the car back I just went to check everything was okay, and I noticed a cigarette on the seat.
"I don't smoke or anything, so at first I thought it was just a normal roll-up cigarette.
"I picked it up and showed it to my husband Gary and we could see it had a cardboard filter inside.
"We opened it up and there was this green plant material which had a strong smell.
"My husband said he was sure it was cannabis. I couldn't believe it - I was horrified.
"We had to use a whole can of air freshener to get rid of the smell of it in the car, it is disgusting.
"The garage said the member of staff had been sacked."
The garage involved admitted making a 'hash' of delivering the car back.
A spokesman for Evans Halshaw said: "We received a complaint from the customer and immediately apologised, and explained that it would be taken very seriously and would require a full investigation.
"Following the apology, we carried out an internal investigation which resulted in disciplinary action being taken."
