THREE cannabis factories have been discovered in as many days by police in Hull.
More than 700 plants have been seized from addresses in Blaydes Street, west Hull, Buckingham Street, east Hull, and Hardy Street, north Hull.
Sergeant Mick Stevenson, of Hull's community reassurance team, said: "In total, we have discovered about 760 plants, which equates to a street value of about £325,000.
"This is quite a high number to be discovered and we are led to believe that all of the cannabis factories are linked to the same people."
Police were called to a house in Blaydes Street on Tuesday afternoon after a member of the public reported the smell of cannabis.
Officers from the Northern neighbourhood policing team and community reassurance team attended the house and seized around 300 plants.
Further enquiries led police to a second address in Hardy Street, where a second cannabis factory with 250 plants was discovered.
Both properties had been badly damaged and their electricity mains had also been tampered with.
Police then received a call at 8.30pm on Thursday from a member of the public reporting the smell of cannabis at a property in Buckingham Street.
A warrant was executed and following a raid, further cannabis plants were discovered.
Sgt Stevenson said: "We are always grateful to members of the public for calling us with any information they might have.
"These days people often tend to contact us via Twitter or Facebook as well as the 101 number, which is great.
"We always follow up the information people report to us."
Police have since arrested a 31-year-old man and 32-year-old man on suspicion of cultivating cannabis.
The men currently remain in police custody.
Police are continuing to urge members of the public to assist them in tackling cannabis cultivation by reporting any information they have.
Sgt Stevenson said: "It doesn't matter how little information people have, we need to know.
"A smell of cannabis can lead to the discovery of a cannabis factory, like in this case."
Report any information about the supply of drugs or any information about drugs activity by calling Humberside Police on 101.
Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
Man, 22, hands himself in
A PCSO from Riverside Neighbourhood Policing Team was on patrol in Denaby Court on Thursday when he noticed a cannabis smell at an address in the area.
Inside the property police discovered a small number of cannabis plants.
A 22-year-old Hull man handed himself in at Clough Road Police station yesterday morning in connection with the address and was arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis.
He remains in police custody.
