I was gifted a 10 pack of the Prana Skunk and from the looks of the small sleek tin packaging, I thought these guys have gone the extra mile to ensure the seeds arrive safe and I even get a keeper tin!

The Prana Skunk is an ‘Indian Skunk’ crossed with ‘The Pure’ and is said to grow. My set up was a 1.2 x 1.2 Qube tent with Budmaster LED and a series of GHE Flora Grow and Flora Nova. For rooting I used GHE’s rooting nutrient and also Super Thrive. The medium was a super airy mix of coco and perlite with worm humus. I love to run my hand through a mix and it be airy and loose. I germinated the seeds straight into the mix and left for them to break through the soil. In my opinion, proper seeds can be planted straight into a medium and left to their own devices. It gives you that old farmer style connection with the garden again.

I planted 10 of the regular seeds and left overnight..All 10 popped up straight away. It meant I ended up with a spare as I only needed 9 for the room. At least till I separated the guys and the girls later on. I have had problems before when seeds have let me down and not germinated so having an extra wasn’t a down side really.

The seedlings grew bright green and quickly. They were a green that I had not seen before so was excited to see what they could do. They grew like little plants. They really bush out and turn into a mini shrub in the first week. The leaves are very light and bright. Shiny when you spray and eye catching. The stem grew up thin and fast which I like as it means you can stop bugs etc climbing up easier and eating leaves. I like to put a small layer around the first centimeter of the stem. It keeps things from crawling up off the soil. A very simple and effective form of pest control! I repotted the plants into 8.5L pots and assumed the position for the rest of the grow. The leaves are really skunky looking. My friend even said to that the leaves off this plant when growing looks like the original ganja leaf you see on posters. The plants all look uniform. Some are branching out more than others whilst some are retaining that vertical one cola dominance structure. I kept the plants fed with 5ml of GHE Flora Grow with 5ml of Root Booster. I gave them a few drops of Super Thrive every now and then but they were looking great. When rubbing the plants I got mix smells. One was a warm Afghani Kushy smell that made me sound like Homer Simpson everytime I smelt it and the other had a lighter sweeter smell with a hash plant in there. It was a new caramelly sweet hash with a faint haze. I labelled this one and kept and eye on her. The kushy smelly one was also great but that smell was something new!

By week 3 - 5 the plants were getting big and starting to show pre flowers alot earlier than most strains do. I picked out the males and kept the suspect girls to one side. 6 out of 10 girls was pretty sweet with me considering one of the males was the kushy smell and the other was the sweet smell. I moved the guys into another tent for safe keeping and after moving the pots around, I flipped the plants. I had pinched out the tops of the plants before I flipped them because they do like to grow. I fed the 6 girls 3ml of Flora Nova Bloom. It is basically humic acids but is great stuff. Very dark and thickish but the plants love it.

The Plants really stretch out but really go for it. Thin leaves and user friendly stems grow everywhere. Especially under this LED it is really going crazy. By the 4th week fed 5ml and the growth was crazy. It was like watching a bush grow. The smells I was getting was a mix of haze and choco caramel. Everyone who had a smell was getting excited. All you had to do was touch the flowers and your fingers smelt so good with this smell. The plants are getting heavy now and filling out and falling down so I must tie them. Week 7 and they are looking in great shape. The buds are forming like the old Silver Haze pheno that was lighter haze long bud formation. I am really excited to try the smoke on these. The strain info says be prepared to take these girls to 9-10 weeks but after week 8 they are looking kinda done. They grow like skunk but posses a kick ass smell that is hard to put my finger on. I chop the 6 girls at day 65 and the ladies are more than good. Big long buds that have bud sites everywhere. Silvery browny purply buds that are like the haze buds with a skunky biomass. A great mix of the indian skunk and the skunk.

Harvesting the plants is simple and as the fan leaves are all long stemmy leaves, they get popped off and the rest follow.

I put the buds in my dry room and leave to dry. I check up after one week. The smell when I enter was so aromatic. Like the original chocolate thai or the silver pearl yet with a light haze ending. Man I can’t wait to try these. I do a final neat trim job and keep all the good leaves to make bubble or dry sieve with. The yield is what I was expecting. Lots of stick long buds grazed with a silver.

After 3 days of a brown bag cure..the buds were crisp and smelt awesome. I ground up the first sticky dry nug and a load of bright green sweet smelling ground bud flew out. I love getting buds that grind up to alot so was happy with my stash. The hit was very cerebral and was a little panicky at first..but the taste. Wow. It was like having a chocolate thai with a haze in there. Great flavours. Prana claim to offer quality, quantity, potency and flavour. So far they have delivered on that. I was thinking this is a racey one. Prana Seeds say its great for anxiety or energy levels. I certainly felt motivated and can say its the kind that gets you so buzzed you end up phoning everyone and chatting rubbish.. After I smoked the first joint, I got the munchies hard and a little dry mouth too. I rolled a second and really tasted this one. It makes you lick the lips and question what is that taste but its better to just enjoy!

In total I got just over 14 ounces dry of big looking bud. I thought I had more from the look. A gram looks huge. I have really enjoyed growing this strain and look forward to making dry sieve with the trim.. Overall, great seeds, awesome packaging and great buds and flavours.
