A CANNABIS farm worth £75,000 has been shut down by Cheshire Police after officers noticed a strong smell coming from a building on Newton Road.


A CANNABIS farm worth £75,000 has been shut down by Cheshire Police after officers noticed a strong smell coming from a building on Newton Road.

Sgt Paul Flynn and his team at Warrington Central NPU searched the area on foot and honed in on 250 Newton Road.

A drugs warrant was executed at 3pm on Monday when police found the cannabis factory.

Plants worth £75,000 were seized from three rooms, and five men at the address were arrested.

Ryan Allwood, aged 20, of Elmham Walk, Manchester, Ryan Bishop, aged 21, of Lewisham Avenue, Manchester, Daniel Tyrone John, aged 28, of Clough Street, Manchester, Lucas Levelle, aged 27, of Lewisham Avenue, Manchester and Peter Rule, aged 20, of Dalton Street, Manchester, appeared at Halton Magistrates Court yesterday, Wednesday.

The five men have been charged with production of a class B drug, and were remanded in custody.
