A 53-year-old has appeared in court charged with being involved in a cannabis production operation worth £70,000.
Anthony Scouler, of Newton Road in Bideford, entered no plea to four charges including being concerned in the production of cannabis, supplying and possessing the drug and also possessing a shotgun without a certificate.
It is alleged that the cannabis operation was being run in an old furniture shop in Bideford between November 1 2011 and May 25 2012.
Karen Ball, for the prosecution, told the court the estimated value of the cannabis was in the range of £70,000.
She also stated the minimum sentence for a crime of this sort would be four years in prison.
Magistrates heard the shotgun was allegedly found on May 24 2012 along with the cannabis.
It was decided the case should be heard at crown court and was therefore adjourned for committal on May 14.
