£50,000 worth of cannabis plants were uncovered in a house in Old Swan.
Merseyside Police raided the property in Ashton Street yesterday and found 50 cannabis plants and growing equipment.
An investigation has now been launched to find those behind the skunk farm. Detectives are appealing for anyone with information to call police.
Neighbourhood Inspector Susan Stribling, said: "Drug production has a really damaging effect on our communities and we are determined to identify anyone involved in this type of crime and bring them to justice.
"Information from the local community led our officers to this address and thanks to this we have found over 50 plants at various stages of growth that will be taken off the streets. I would like to reassure the community that we will act on all information provided to us.
"I would encourage anyone who sees any suspicious activity, or has reason to believe cannabis is being grown in their area, to call police and we will investigate it fully."
