Drugs worth around £30,000 have been seized by police after a raid in Dunmurry.
Officers uncovered suspected cannabis during a search of a property in the Ashley Park area yesterday.
Neighbourhood Inspector Peter Brannigan said not only are the drugs "hazardous", but often the cannabis factories are operating in "very dangerous circumstances".
He said: "They are frequently located in vacant or derelict properties where the structures have been compromised or where electricity is being illegally abstracted."
Inspector Brannigan said information from local people was "vital" in helping them identify properties where drugs activity may be taking place.
He said: "Drugs are a scourge on society, destroying lives and families and I would encourage local people to contact us if they have suspicions about any person or place, or if they believe they can help us identify those involved in the local drugs trade. I can assure you, we will listen."
