The resident who started the bonfire phoned firefighters as the fire got out of control. He said: “I was having a fire down the end of the garden, cuttings from the hedge, and it spread to a fence and onto the next-door garage.
A 30-year-old man from Twickenham has been arrested on suspicion of the production of cannabis. He has been bailed until Friday July 3.
