"Mary Jane Berlin" presents the latest developments in the fast growing German Cannabis industry. BERLIN - Once again, 170 national and international exhibitors will be presenting the future of the green power plant at the "Mary Jane Berlin" from 8th to 10th of June 2018. Visitors will be introduced to hundreds of well established products as well as new trends in the industry on more than 6,500 sqm of indoor space and 950 sqm of outdoor space directly at the river.
The three-day Cannabis event in the ARENA Berlin (Eichenstraße 4, 12435 Berlin) combining product exhibition, congress and cultural festival in one, expects more than 18,000 visitors (www.maryjane-berlin.com). The new law to facilitate the process to prescribe medical cannabis from March 2017, once again gave the German cannabis industry a strong burst of growth. According to the German Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices (BfArM), cannabis from cultivation in Germany should be available by 2019. A total of 117 companies have applied to tender for domestic cannabis cultivation.

European market leaders as well as small companies and start-ups coming from Germany and all over the world will be exhibiting in the central „Arena Halle“, directly on the banks of the river Spree in the district of Alt-Treptow. The number of exhibitors grew again compared to the previous year (2017: 150) to around 170 companies.
With the release of medical cannabis, foreign companies are increasingly showing interest in the German cannabis market. Especially international companies from the USA, Canada, Israel and Holland will be represented. With the growing interest in the German cannabis market, "Mary Jane Berlin" has quickly become Germany's most important platform for establishing business contacts and networks within the industry.
At the same time, the expo is regarded as the most important communication channel to the consumer. Interested parties have the opportunity to inform themselves about current trends and market dynamics. In addition to the trade expo, national and international experts will discuss cannabis cultivation, legalization developments and the medical use of cannabis.
The latter, in particular, will be extensively illuminated this year by renowned doctors such as Dr. med. Franjo Grotenhermen and Dr. med. Eva Milz. In addition, the German Hemp Association provides an overview of the current medical law in Germany and the awarding of cultivation licenses.
Breeds, selections and the requirements for the medical cultivation of cannabis are also treated under the aspect. Rick Simpson, the inventor of the oil of the same name, was recently among the international experts. Besides the exhibition, visitors can enjoy the good weather on the outdoor area overlooking the river.
