Man remanded on cannabis charges
A Chinese man, who had been on the run for more than 10 years, has been remanded into custody accused of producing and supplying cannabis.

Appearing in the dock of Craigavon Magistrates' Court on Friday alongside a Mandarin interpreter, 49-year-old Ke Quan Zhang confirmed that he understood the charges against him.
Zhang, with an address at the Tandragee Road in Portadown, is accused of producing class B drug cannabis, possessing with intent to supply, being concerned in the supply of a class B drug and simple possession of cannabis, all alleged to have occurred on July 17.
The charges arise after police from Organised Crime Branch uncovered a suspected cannabis factory.
Zhang is further charged with breaching a deportation order on January 1 1997 by entering the UK.
As no bail application was lodged, District Judge Bernadette Kelly remanded him into custody to appear again on August 15 by video link.

A detective constable told the court he believed he could connect Zhang to the charges and as no bail application was lodged, District Judge Bernadette Kelly remanded him into custody to appear again on 15 August by video link.
