A MAN caught producing cannabis has been spared jail.
A MAN caught producing cannabis has been spared jail.
Billy Williams, 24, of Clarendon Road, Southsea, pleaded guilty to producing 12 plants of the class B drug at a flat in Cornwallis Crescent in Portsmouth on March 17.
He also admitted failing to surrender to custody.
Williams was sentenced to 12 weeks in jail suspended for a year.
Williams was put under supervision for a year.
He was ordered to pay an £80 victim surcharge by Portsmouth magistrates.
An order was made for the cannabis to be forfeited and destroyed under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.
