A man has been arrested after police swooped on a suspected cannabis farm in Merseyside this morning.
The cannabis farm was discovered in a property on Campion Way, Huyton just after 8am. Police confirmed around 40 cannabis plants were found during the early morning drugs bust carried out when officers produced a warrant to search the premises.
A Merseyside police spokesman confirmed a man was arrested "on suspicion of cannabis cultivation and abstracting electricity".
He remains in custody at the present time and a search of the property is ongoing.
Merseyside police have vowed to clampdown on drugs and in recent weeks more than 400 officers executed 38 warrants across Liverpool as part of Operation Azuga, targeting gangs based in the Dingle and Toxteth area.
