A man was arrested after cannabis plants with a street value of £150,000 were found at a house in Everton.
Police officers discovered the 150 plants after searching a property on Breck Road at 9.20am on Tuesday.
A 44-year-old man was arrested a short time later on suspicion of cannabis production. He is currently being questioned by officers and remains in police custody.
Officers from the Merseyside Police MSOC Cannabis Dismantling Team are at the property carrying out further enquiries.
An investigation to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident is ongoing.
Neighbourhood Sergeant Amy Smith, said: "Cannabis has a hugely damaging effect on communities and the plants seized today is part of our continued effort to take drugs off the streets.
"The drugs recovered is as a result of information provided to police by the local community. This demonstrates just how important information from the public can be in helping us take drugs off the streets of Merseyside.
"I would like to reassure the community that we will continue in our drive to crackdown on drug production and will seek to take action against those involved in it. If anyone has information about drug production in their area or notices any suspicious activity in their area, please call police and we will investigate."
